Psssst! Very softly! Some very shy bats, snakes and lizards live at the Weißenstein castle ruins and its surroundings. If you are careful and search, you will find them in the white rock called a Pfahl.
The bats, which come out at night, spend the day in the cracks and crevasses in the Pfahl rock. Reptiles such as smooth snakes and sand lizards also live here.
Medieval Spectacle at the Weißenstein Castle Ruins
Every two years, the animals have to cover their ears. Because in June there is a great medieval spectacle here, with knights, knaves, market traders, fire eaters, dancers – there is lots to see and wonder at here.
