Jugglers, knights, dukes: In July and August every year they take over the Neunußberg castle ruins near Viechtach. Because this is pageant time in the more than 600 year old castle. There is fighting, loving, singing and laughing.
The castle at Neunußberg was built between 1340 and 1350 by Konrad the Nußberger; the castle chapel was built in 1353; the tower house was used as a look out tower. Parts of the outer wall and well survived the turbulent years of the Middle Ages.
The castle ruins are accessible at any time. Anyone who wants to climb the tower is asked to contribute a "castle penny".
