the border with the Czech Republic runs right through the middle of the station in Bayerisch Eisenstein. Information boards explain the varied history of the station.

There is also a comprehensive information centre with an exhibition of the Bavarian Forest Natural Park as well as German-Czech Natural and National Park Information Centre.
